Shadow Auto Dealer Christmas Kindness Contest – Official Rules

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A purchase will not improve your chances of winning.

1. Sponsor

Shadow Auto Dealer, 520 Niagara Street, Welland, Ontario, L3C 1L8 (the “Sponsor”).

2. Contest Period

The Contest begins on December 13, 2025 at 3:00 PM Eastern Time (ET) and ends on December 23, 2025 at 11:59 PM ET (the “Contest Period”).

3. Eligibility

This Contest is open only to legal residents of Ontario who are Canadian citizens and have reached the age of majority (18 years or older) in Ontario at the time of entry. The nominee must also meet these eligibility criteria. Employees, officers, directors, agents, and representatives of the Sponsor, its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising/promotion agencies, and immediate family members (spouse, parents, siblings, children) or household members of such individuals are not eligible. Void where prohibited by law.

4. How to Enter

No purchase necessary. During the Contest Period, nominate a deserving individual by submitting a short original video (maximum 60 seconds) explaining why the nominee needs and deserves a free vehicle this Christmas. Submissions must be sent via direct email to the Sponsor’s designated email address.Sponsor’s designated email address:

Limit: One (1) entry per person. Multiple entries from the same person will be disqualified. Entries must be received by the end of the Contest Period.

By submitting an entry, you represent and warrant that: (i) the video is your original work; (ii) you own all rights to the video or have obtained necessary permissions; (iii) the video does not infringe any third-party rights (including copyright, privacy, or publicity); and (iv) anyone appearing in the video has consented to its submission and potential use.

“By submitting a nomination, you confirm that you have obtained the prior consent of the nominee to submit their nomination, including consent to share their personal information and story with the Sponsor for the purposes of this Contest and potential public use as outlined in these rules.”

Entries that are incomplete, illegible, corrupted, fraudulent, or violate these rules will be disqualified.

5. Submissions and License Grant

All submitted videos must be original creations and must not infringe any intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights of third parties.

By entering, each entrant irrevocably grants the Sponsor a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, edit, adapt, modify, publish, display, distribute, create derivative works from, and otherwise exploit the submitted video (and any content therein, including the entrant’s and nominee’s name, likeness, voice, and story) in any media now known or hereafter developed, for any purpose (including advertising, promotion, and marketing of the Sponsor and its business), without further consent, notice, review, approval, or compensation. Entrants also waive any moral rights in the video in favor of the Sponsor.

The Sponsor may, in its discretion, publicly share or feature selected videos (including non-winning entries) on its website, social media, or other platforms.

6. Prize

One (1) Grand Prize: A used 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe, in good condition with a valid Safety Standards Certificate, approximate fair market value $16,000 CAD. The vehicle is awarded “as-is” with no warranty expressed or implied.

Important Disclosures Regarding Vehicle History:

•  Recalls: This vehicle was subject to one or more manufacturer-issued safety recalls related to the engine. All applicable recall repairs have been completed by an authorized Hyundai dealer prior to the Contest.

•  Accident and Glass Claims (per CARFAX Canada records):
• November 7, 2023 – Scarborough, Ontario, Canada: Collision claim of $8,520.00 with related damage estimate of $8,346.89 (estimate date: November 14, 2023).
• February 28, 2021 – Ontario, Canada: Glass Record claim of $1,386.00.
• May 25, 2019 – Ontario, Canada: Glass Record claim of $150.00.

All reported damage has been professionally repaired, and the vehicle is in good condition with a valid Safety Standards Certificate. Entrants and the winner are encouraged to obtain an independent vehicle history report (e.g., via CARFAX Canada at carfax.ca) for complete details.

The Sponsor will cover applicable provincial retail sales tax (RST) and ownership transfer fees at registration. The winner is solely responsible for all other costs, including but not limited to insurance, licensing, fuel, maintenance, repairs, and any ongoing expenses.

Total Approximate Retail Value (ARV): $16,000 CAD. Prize is non-transferable, non-substitutable, and no cash alternative or value. Odds of winning depend on the number and quality of eligible entries received. Approximately 1 in 500.

7. Winner Selection and Notification

On or about December 24, 2025, a panel of judges appointed by the Sponsor will review all eligible entries and select one (1) potential winner based on the following judging criteria:

•  Emotional impact of the story (50%)

•  Description of hardship/need (30%)

•  Overall positivity and fit for the prize (20%)

Judges’ decisions are final and binding in all matters.

The potential winner will be notified by DM, email, or phone within 3 days of selection. To claim the prize, the potential winner must: (i) respond within 7 days; (ii) correctly answer, without assistance, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question (example: (15 × 4) - (20 ÷ 5) + 10 = ?); and (iii) sign and return a declaration of eligibility, liability/publicity release, and any required consents. If the potential winner cannot be contacted, fails the skill-testing question, or does not comply, the prize will be forfeited, and an alternate may be selected.

8. General Conditions

The Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the Contest if fraud, technical failures, or any other factor impairs its integrity. Entries generated by script, macro, or other automated means are void. The Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, damaged, or misdirected entries.

By entering, entrants agree: (a) to these Official Rules and Sponsor’s decisions; (b) to release Sponsor and its affiliates, agents, and representatives from any liability for injuries, losses, or damages arising from participation or prize acceptance/use; and (c) to allow use of their name, likeness, entry, and nominee details for promotional purposes without further compensation (except where prohibited).

9. Privacy

Personal information collected will be used for Contest administration and may be used for marketing with consent. Information is handled in accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). Entrants may opt out of future communications.

10. Governing Law

This Contest is governed by the laws of Ontario and Canada. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ontario.

11. Winner List

For the winner’s name (available after January 1, 2026), send a self-addressed stamped envelope to the Sponsor address above.
